VIDEO APPOINTMENTS HELP THOUSANDS SEE SPECIALISTS WITHOUT LEAVING THEIR HOME

9/7/2020

Almost eight in ten people are able to get the treatment they need without travelling into hospital, with almost 95% of patients giving the service they received a maximum rating of five stars."
Moorfields eye hospital in London has been hosting  over 600 video appointments a week to ensure patients continue to get specialist eye care whilst staying at home. Since implementing Attend Anywhere, they have held almost 10,000 video appointments.
Jennifer Slater, 68, is a patient at Moorfields Yee Hospital:
A few weeks ago I was worried about my left eye. Bearing in mind I am 68 and not that great with technology, I decided to try and get a video consultation at Moorfields. I clicked on the link, followed the very clear instructions and within five minutes a doctor called me back. It was wonderful, I felt like I was in the clinic."

The rich visual clues add great value to our quality conversations and enhance our patient experience. The patient may need to show the clinician a body part to highlight an area of wasting or a shoulder joint that is sitting forward can be seen. This is very hard to describe on the telephone. Attend Anywhere has been amazing."

virtual appointments help Patients get important diagnoses during the coronavirus lockdown without leaving home

1/7/2020

There has been a 70% increase in digital, video and telephone consultations since the start of the pandemic. During lockdown, Northumbria Parkinson’s service used the ‘Attend Anywhere’ technology – and waiting times have reduced from three to four months pre-COVID to two weeks, diagnosing a number of patients.
Charlie Blyth, 64, is one of the patients at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust:
I felt so much more comfortable being able to see Annette and her happy, smiling face than I would have done over the phone and I felt so much more relaxed being able to remain in my own home and not have to travel, which with me living in Berwick could have taken hours.
Nurse consultant Annette Hand:
It’s [Attend Anywhere] also meant a lot less travelling for the patients which is a major benefit and for clinicians it has meant we are able to see many more patients and been able to decrease our waiting times significantly.
