Accessibility Statement for Attend Anywhere Caller Entry

This accessibility statement only applies to the Attend Anywhere Caller Entry screens only (used by Callers/Patients). This website is run by Attend Anywhere Pty Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
  • Modify the line height or spacing of text
  • Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver)

We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not yet fully accessible:
  • On the 'Terms and Policies' page, there is no warning that the session will time out after a short period of time. For security purposes, the page automatically redirects back to the 'Caller details' page.
  • The calendar widget has multiple accessibility issues.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Attend Anywhere is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

The Caller Entry is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

On the 'Terms and Policies' page, there is no warning that the session will time out after 5 minutes. The page automatically redirects back to the 'Caller details' page. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.2.1 (Timing Adjustable). We plan to warn the user that the page will time out and give them the ability to extend the time by June 2022.

Disproportionate burden

The calendar widget has multiple accessibility issues

Within the calendar widget:
  • The 'Previous month' and 'Next month' icons are unlabelled. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-Text Content)
  • The focus indicators have low contrast. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.11 (Non-text Contrast)
  • The text is difficult to read when text spacing in increased as the current date indicator and focus indicator no longer align with the text. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.12 (Text Spacing)
  • The current and selected date cannot be programmatically determined. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.2.1 (Timing Adjustable)

While there are known outstanding accessibility issues with the Calendar widget, there is an alternative method for users to select a date via the text input. Given the cost of fixing the issues with the calendar component, and the alternative method of entering a date, we believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will make another assessment when the supplier contract is up for renewal. This date varies per site and contract.
