Vidyo 2.0 Now Available for Hosted Customers

We are pleased to announce a major upgrade to the Vidyo™ video conferencing technology integrated within The Attend Anywhere video consulting and events management platform.

What do I need to do?

Everyone will need to download the new Vidyo 2.0 Desktop Client the first time they make a call. This will happen automatically or it can be done manually at any time via www.attendanywhere.com/setupvideo

Please note this WILL require administrator rights on your computer and, if you are on a corporate network, permission to download .exe files.

What does this mean to me?

The user experience in Vidyo 2.0 is improved, there is new functionality and all future Vidyo product enhancements will be based on this new platform.

Vidyo 2.0 improvements include:

  • Java is no longer required to install the Vidyo Desktop Client, which can be a standalone install now
  • Echo cancellation enhancements
  • Selection / changing of audio and video devices is simpler and can be done on the fly
  • Vidyo Desktop Client can be downloaded in the Attend Anywhere ‘set up and test’ wizard
  • Users can share their whole desktop as well as individual windows
  • Security enhancements - HIPAA compliant signalling and media encryption
  • Vidyo Gateway support for H.239 dual channel content integration with Vidyo Desktop Content display
  • Vidyo Gateway increased capacity and cascading
  • Ability to cascade routers, gateways and connect to best router
  • Share Video files in future releases

New features / improvements

  • Platform is Vidyo2 ready
  • Redesigned group video rooms and meetings within cleaner tab format and added functionality, including guest user tab
  • Organisation related emails are now organisation branded
  • Personal rooms auto funded by organisation, existing users get prompt to fund room ‘Attend Anywhere button’ lets people attend via www.attendanywhere.com or their own web site without needing an account (just need link or meeting / room ID and password)
  • Attend via AA button replaces current guest link process
  • All new Orgs have button enabled for default
  • All funded video rooms and meeting have the "Button" enabled
  • Improved Set up and test functionality via button pop up (enables people to test in the room they are planning to attend)
  • Ability to login via button pop-up
  • Auto-mute new participants when they join option
  • Quick meeting set up and advanced meeting set up / events management
  • On dashboard:
    • Contacts / groups tab - displays up to 3 group accounts user owns
    • Recent Calls tab - If a user hasn’t made any calls previously, shows the video rooms the user can join
    • Appointment tab - Show current meeting until its finished
  • A non-logged in user (guest) can now be a moderator to a meeting
  • The moderator can see all the conference controls
  • They can also promote any other participant in the call to be a moderator
  • To become a moderator you need to enter a different password
  • All video rooms now have resource links
  • Past savings report are displayed even if functionality currently disabled
  • New email once meeting has been set up that can be forwarded to meeting participants
  • New meeting confirmation email
  • New page shows all the video rooms in an organisation (accessible from left hand menu on organisation profile)
  • If you enter the details (room id / password or guest link or guide) for a meeting in a series and the meeting is in the past, the next meeting will be used
  • The calendar download for a meeting contains the details for the full series if the meeting is in a series and the meeting organiser details
  • Make gateway calls by room name. “Local venues” can be added to a location that contain specified SIP / H.323 endpoints (traditional videoconference endpoints) and relevant connection information. These local venues can be called in to video meetings / rooms if enabled for your organisation.
  • For organisation admin My meetings now shows ‘meetings in my organisation that I can manage’
