Set Up and Test Vidyo™ Personal Telepresence
Please read the instructions - it makes a big difference!
Vidyo is a business grade video conference solution but at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems.
There are some things you need to focus on however, including getting the right peripherals and this is important to achieve a good outcome.
If you're just getting started read this VidyoConferencing readiness assessment.
If your computer is on a corporate network permissions may need to be given to enable access through the firewall - this Network administrator guide explains more.
Step 1 of 4: Make sure you have enough bandwidth
To ensure the best quality video we recommend a minimum DOWNLOAD and UPLOAD speed of 512Kbps in both directions. If you have less bandwidth you can still make a call but the video quality will be affected. For the best performance (for example being able to view multiple participants, not just the person that is speaking) we recommend a DOWNLOAD speed of 2000kbps + (normal ADSL 2 broadband is 8000-14000kbps+.
To check your available bandwidth, simply click Begin Test below and allow the test to finish.
If you see a message below with 'Speed Test requires at least version 7 of Flash - Please update your client' then you will need to go here to install the latest version of Macromedia Flash.
Technical Note: Computers on a wireless network can work well but we recommend a wired connection to your network when in video conferencing calls if available.
